A RARE No. 5 MARK I JUNGLE CARBINE BAYONET KNIFE-CONVERSION AND A POWDER FLASK, circa 1944, with 7 3/4 in. single-edged blade with clipped point and fullered on each side, ricasso with 'W.S.C.' for Wilkinson Sword Company and their war-time dispersal code of 'S294' to one side with Broad Arrow and Bend Test 'X' over, cross-guard with muzzle ring ground off, riveted wooden grips, release button removed, with its black steel scabbard also marked 'S294' [such conversions were undertaken by regimental armourers, particularly during the Malayan Emergency of 1948-60]. plus a worn reproduction American Civil War period powder flask, working spring, flattened back (2)
