THE STOCK, ACTION AND FORE-END ONLY OF A HOLLAND & HOLLAND 12-BORE 'THE ROYAL' SIDELOCK EJECTOR, serial no. 12671, circa 1896, originally with black powder only damascus barrels, treble-grip action, patent gas checks, toplever gold-inlaid '1' and engraved 'Holland & Holland Patent no. 23', unusual automatic safety with side-mounted button and gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, dipped-edge lockplates, fine border and acanthus scroll engraving surrounding naive game-scene vignettes of game birds, patinated finish, 15 1/4in. figured stock including wooden extension
