A CASED PAIRING OF .41 (RIMFIRE) COLT 'CLOVERLEAF' HOUSE & No.3 DERRINGER PISTOLS, serial numbers 559 and 44280,
the first for 1871, with 3in. barrel signed on two lines 'COLTS HOUSE PISTOL' over 'HARTFORD CT. USA', solid frame with distinctive four-shot 'cloverleaf' cylinder, exposed hammer, spur trigger and smooth walnut birdshead grips, the frame retaining much original nickel-plated finish with traces also to barrel and cylinder, the second circa 1908, with nickel-plated 2 1/2in. barrel, plated open frame, exposed hammer and spur trigger and smooth walnut birdshead grips, in a mahogany case of apparent period manufacture lined and compartmented in green baize for these pistols
