circa 1865, with round profile 33in. heavyweight barrel, the top signed 'JAMES CROCKART, BLAIRGOWRIE' near the octagonal profile breech (fine pitting throughout), tunnel fore-sight with blade to the apex, military style ladder rear-sight, scroll engraved breech-block and fully engraved top-tang, borderline and scroll engraved lock signed on the bar 'J. CROCKART', sculpted and engraved hammer, chequered walnut full-stock, the wrist fitted with an unfinished later mount for a vernier sight (sight absent), iron furniture including finger-spur to the lower tang, two barrel bands and jag-tipped ramrod
