circa 1810 with later conversion to percussion from flintlock, with octagonal swamped micro-rifled 6 3/4in. barrel inlaid in gilt on the top-flat 'CANON DAMAST', twin gold lines at muzzle and breech, engraved top-tang, applied white metal fore-sight and shallow notch rear-sight, borderline engraved flat lock of flint form signed in gilt within an oval border 'H. STURM A SUHL', carved hammer with bolted safe, clipped tail, walnut full-stock (some old cracks and repairs, chequering worn), white metal mounts of French style, black horn octagonal grip-cap with faceted white metal pommel, single set trigger, missing ramrod
