A .577/450 MARTINI-HENRY MARK II SERVICE RIFLE SIGNED ENFIELD, no visible serial number, dated 1885, with 32 1/2 in sighted barrel with proof, ownership and inspection marks, right side of receiver with faint 'S-X' [Strengthened Extractor] on bridge, crown over 'V. R. / ENFIELD / 1885 / lock-viewer's mark / II. / 2.' on right side, full stock, butt with Enfield roundel and 'sold-out-of-service' mark, plus brass disc stamped '5 / 1894 / 1.V.ORK.A / 337', fittings have many WD, Broad Arrow and Enfield inspection marks, worn, barrel refinished, appears to have a filled saw-cut ahead of the knoxform, stock varnished, clearing rod absent, stock has been poorly varnished with runs and applied over some metalwork, appears to have been constructed from parts
