for 1874, 30 1/8in. black powder only reproved bold damascus barrel (in 1984), engraved 'JOSh. LANG & SONS. 22 COCKSPUR STREET. LONDON.', 2 1/2in. chamber, bored approx. true cyl., Jones patent rotary-underlever, arcaded standing breech, unusual centered percussion fence, rebounding back-action lock, hammer with hare's-ear spur and extended nose to strike centrally placed firing pin, fine beaded border and acanthus scroll engraving, retaining slight traces of original colour-hardening in sheltered areas, 13 1/2in. figured stock with engraved steel heel and toe plates, fore-end with cross-pin release catch and carved horn finial, small chip left edge, weight 5lb. 7oz.
