AN IMPERIAL GERMAN MODEL 1871 SWORD BAYONET, dated 1873, with 18 in. single-edged blade fullered on each side, ricasso marked 'JUNG&SON, SUHL', blade back with inspection and ownership marks plus date '73', quillioned cross-guard marked 'M S', brass hilt with inspection mark, together with an associated black leather scabbard with brass fittings, the chape with regimental markings 'B. / 12 R. / 2.0 173.', inspection mark to locket, worn, a large fold in the centre, badly fitting on the blade (tight) and the locket loose (probably as a result of forcing the blade)
