circa 1840, with 25in. browned octagonal double groove rifled barrel, dove-tailed blade fore-sight and rear standing notch with two folding leaves, barrel top-flat engraved 'EDINBURGH', border and scroll engraved top-tang and bar-lock action signed 'HENRY' with engraved dolphin-head hammer (repaired), walnut half-stock with straight hand grip chequered at wrist, engraved iron heel-plate top-tang, white-metal rectangular clipped corner escutcheon engraved 'JD', to underside of stock, single set trigger, guard bow with integral raised tang-piece, white-metal barrel key escutcheon with horn nose-cap, under rib and ramrod missing
