dated for 1874, with round 18 3/4in. barrel, block and blade fore-sight, small ladder rear-sight, traces of the '591 STRAND, LONDON' signature and address, Birmingham proofs, flip-open breech with sprung thumb-catch, plain lock (traces of colour) signed 'ADAMS 1874' and with a crown stamp to tail, walnut half-stock, brass furniture, the heel-plate with central trap containing a two-piece cleaning-rod, iron saddle-bar with loose ring, single iron barrel-band and no provision for a clearing-rod
