A .577 COMMERCIAL TWO-BAND SNIDER MARK II, SIGNED TOWER, no visible serial number, dated 1871, with 30 1/2 in. barrel with commercial Birmingham proof-marks, receiver and show with 'SNIDER / PATENT' commercial marks, lock with crown plus 'TOWER / 1871', brass furniture, complete with sling swivels, clearing rod, nipple-guard and modern sling, worn, metalwork with rusting and pitting, the barrel and shoe crudely painted gloss black, stock with chipped losses and small splits around the lock, butt-plate sits proud of the butt
