A PAIR OF 46-BORE FLINTLOCK ROUND-BODIED BOXLOCK POCKET PISTOLS SIGNED SYKES, OXFORD, no visible serial numbers,
circa 1810, with round turn-off 1 1/2in. barrels, broad engraved bands at the muzzles, further engraved bands at the joints, rounded iron bodies with trophy engraved panels to both sides and signed 'SYKES' on the left and 'OXFORD' on the right below the sculpted rainproof pans, roller frizzens, ring-neck central cocks (one well repaired at neck), sliding safes also locking the pans, chequered walnut bag-shaped grips and concealed automatic triggers
