circa 1865, with 5 1/2in. octagonal barrel, the left hand side marked 'MERWIN & BRAY NEW-YORK', the raised sighting rib signed 'PLANT'S MFG CO NEWHAVEN C.T.', brass frame (traces of silver-plate remaining), rear-mounted ejector-rod, plain iron cylinder (bored through) marked with patent dates around the circumference, two-piece flared grips and sheath trigger
