A .32-40 (W&B) CONTINENTAL SIDE-LEVER SINGLE-BARRELLED TARGET RIFLE, UNSIGNED, serial no. 10639,
probably a Scandinavian Larson circa 1880, with round tapering 30 1/4in. barrel, small tunnel fore-sight (original rear-sight removed and absent), borderline and arabesque engraved long slab-sided receiver with bun-headed forward-facing side-lever swinging up and back to the rear to cam and drop the breech-block, external off-set hammer, later vernier sight applied to top-tang, chequered walnut butt-stock with raised and moulded cheek-piece and with shell-carved half pistol-grip, nickel-plated Swiss-style heel-plate, single set trigger (currently not setting), walnut splinter fore-end and swivels for sling
