circa 1840, with 1 3/4in. turn-off barrel engraved band at muzzle, Birmingham proofed border and scroll engraved rounded boxlock action, the left side signed 'RD BOOTH', and 'SUNDERLAND', to the right, both within scrolled banners, engraved central dolphin-hammer and top-tang push forward safety, smooth bag-shape walnut grip with white-metal oval escutcheon (vacant) at wrist
