AN 8mm (GAULOIS PISTOL) MANUFACTURE FRANCAISE 'GAULOIS No.3 DELUXE' REPEATING PALM-PISTOL, serial no. 25364,
circa 1895, with round 2 1/4in. barrel scroll engraved at breech, flat sighting rib engraved with arabesque borders and signed 'GAULOIS' in gilt together with the Manufrance trademark, nickel bead fore-sight, squared scroll engraved receiver inhabited by satyrs and signed on the top in gilt 'MANUFACTURE FRANCAISE SAINT ETIENNE ARMES ET CYCLES' within a circle (small losses to gilt), sliding dust cover with thumb-grips, detachable sideplate on the right hand side, the left side drilled with cartridge viewing holes and fitted with a three-position selector, the positions marked in gilt, squeeze-firing sliding cocking and firing piece to the rear fitted with a chequered gutta-percha grip-piece, slight traces of original colour and finish throughout
