A PATTERN 1912 WORLD WAR I CAVALRY OFFICER'S SWORD BY WILKINSON, serial number 49384 dates to 1914, 33 3/4 in. single-edged blade fullered on each side, etched both sides with crown, coat-of-arms and royal cypher, ricasso marked 'WILKINSON / PALL MALL / LONDON' (faint) with proved plug over, bowl guard with scrolled honeysuckle pattern, wire-bound fish-skin grip, with its brown leather field scabbard, worn, blade stained with rust patches, guard rusted, grips worn and grazed, scabbard grazed and strap absent
