A PATTERN 1796 INFANTRY SPADROON, circa early 19th Century, with 30 in. single-edged blade clean of any marks or engraving, brass hilt with early pattern plain double-shell guard, 'D' knuckle-bow and urn pommel, brass ribbed faux-wire over wood grip, black leather scabbard with iron fittings and two suspension loops, worn, blade stained and pitted, shell and knuckle-guards loose, grip with small losses, scabbard wood broken at the mid-point, leather grazed, fittings heavily rusted and pitted
