A PATTERN 1821 LIGHT CAVALRY TROOPER'S YEOMANRY CAVALRY SWORD,
circa 1830s, with 35 1/4in. single-edged blade fullered on each side and engraved below the ricasso with 'S.Y.C.' (probably Sussex or Surrey Yeomanry Cavalry) to one side and '198' over, hilt with 3-barred guard, original leather wrap to the grip, steel scabbard with matching engraving to the sword and two suspension rings, blinded pitting to the hilt and scabbard
