for 1924, 30in. nitro barrels (No.4 reproved in 2026), the ribs engraved 'WILLIAM EVANS. 63. PALL MALL. ST. JAMES'S, LONDON.' and gold-inlaid '3' and '4' at the breech ends, 2 1/2in. chambers (No.3) and 2 3/4in. chambers (No.4), bored approx. 1/4 and 3/4 choke, treble-grip actions with removable striker discs, toplevers gold-inlaid '3' and '4', automatic safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, rolled-edge triggerguards, beaded and crosshatch border engraving, the undersides with oval cartouches carved in high relief 'EVANS PATENT SINGLE TRIGGER', retaining traces of original colour-hardening, 15in. well-figured stocks including 1in. leather covered recoil pads, weight 6lb. 11oz., in their individual brass-cornered leather cases
