E. AKRILL 12-BORE ROTARY-UNDERLEVER HAMMERGUN, no visible serial number, circa 1875, and possibly converted from muzzle-loading, 27in. nitro reproved damascus barrels (in 2005), the rib engraved 'E. AKRILL. MAKER. MARKET PLACE. BEVERLEY.', 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl., carved percussion fences, non-rebounding hammers, grip safety engraved 'SAFETY', beaded border and acanthus scroll engraving, brushed bright finish, 14 1/8in. figured semi-pistolgrip stock, Hackett-type snap-on fore-end with horn finial, weight 6lb. 10oz.
