circa 1870, with 3in. vertically moulded three-barrel group, small white-metal blade fore-sight, hinged opening with top mounted rotating dove-tailed locking catch with central sighting groove in pivot screw, plane brass frame the left side stamped 'W M W MARSTON PATENTED MAY 26 1857 NEW YORK CITY IMPROVED 1864' and rotating barrel indicator on the right, case extractor absent, spurred hammer and sheathed trigger, brass grip straps with smooth two-piece walnut grips
