A SCARCE .455 FOUR-BARRELLED HOWDAH PISTOL, serial no. 7349, with a period holster,
the pistol circa 1885, with blued 6 1/4in. oval-bored barrel cluster (some isolated pitting), the top-rib signed 'CHARLES LANCASTER (PATENT) 151 NEW BOND ST, LONDON', the left barrel rib marked '.455 C.F.', squared action with side-lever opening to the left hand side and double hook locking, smooth walnut grip-panels covering the action cheeks and the birdshead butt, smooth back-strap, provision for lanyard swivel to heel (swivel absent), trigger-guard bow with engraved serial number, retaining fair traces of original finish, in a period leather full-flap holster modified for this pistol
