unidentified St. Petersburg assay masters mark for 1886, with 19 1/4in. blued blade with fullered stem of flattened square section with a slightly swelled square section tip, silver handle with applied silver Imperial Russian crest within an applied scrollwork escutcheon and bordered above and below by a decorative band, the pommel formed hollow with a leather-lined hinged cap decorated with an applied figured of St. George slaying the dragon bordered by scrollwork, the blade housed in the blackened wooden stem of the stick with silver locket and brass tip, St. Petersburg city mark, 84 zolotniki silver grade mark and unidentified makers mark in Cyrillic.
Other Notes: The unidentified St. Petersburg assay master who struck his mark on this piece in 1886 is recorded between 1881 and 1894.
