for 1878, the 51/2in. blued sighted barrel signed 'COLT'S PT FA MFG CO HARTFORD CT USA DEPOT 14 PALL MALL LONDON', colour-hardened frame inscribed 'PAT SEPT 19 1871 " JULY 2 72 " JAN 19 75 on three lines, blued cylinder (chambers re-lined) and grip-straps with calibre designation '.45 B' to the rear of trigger-guard, walnut grips, London proofs, the whole remaining in fine order with much original finish.
Provenance: Only 729 revolvers were made for the .450 Boxer cartridge and it is thought that as few as 182 were signed with the Pall Mall address
