with 27in unsigned blade possibly 17th century, re-mounted in the late 'Edo' period, clearly visible 'chu-suguha' style hamon (one small edge-nick), later horimono, possibly to disguise pitting, ovate iron tsuba with geometric border decoration, cotton tsuka-ito with bronze dragon menuki, black lacquered saya with minute gold flecking and an iron kojiri (good polish to blade with small areas of old pitting, light scratching to saya)
