for 1897, with 5 1/2in. barrel, tapering block fore-sight, the breech marked 'WAFFENFABRIK MAUSER OBERNDORF A/N', brushed bright bolt, long-style extractor, dove-tailed firing pin retainer, 'cone-style' external hammer, rear-sight marked from '50' to '500' with bright blued slider, milled frame, 23-groove walnut grips, lanyard ring to base, the pistol retaining much of its original finish and colour TOGETHER WITH its correctly numbered wooden holster-stock signed 'WESTLEY RICHARDS & CO LTD, LONDON' in an oval on the left hand side (scuffed, one split near lid)
