last decade of the 19th century (date obscured), with 25in. sighted barrel, action marked 'WESTLEY RICHARDS & CO.' on the left side and 'SPECIALLY MADE FOR ZAR' on the right side, all the exposed iron surfaces deeply pitted and corroded, walnut butt-stock, the left hand side carved with 'C P DREIJEH TAUTESBERG, 1-1-1901' within a heart-shaped device, the right hand side carved with 'ORLOG' within a surround shaped like a bullet together with a bust of a gentleman in formal dress and a rectangular panel with the dates '1899, 1900, 1901' within it, the stock and three-quarter fore-end amateurly chequered by the same hand, missing clearing rod and other minor losses
