circa 1812, with cleaned 41 1/4in. barrel, applied blade fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight, flat, slightly curved bevel-edged lock signed 'POTSDAM' forwards of the hammer, large iron guard around the pan, lozenge-shaped frizzen and hamer-jaws, plain three-quarter walnut stock with raised cheek-piece (old repaired split at wrist), carved 'G A O' on the right hand side, brass furniture including serpentine sideplate amateurly engraved with a royal crown and cypher, substantial brass ramrod thimbles and replacement rammer, the whole worn with some detail re-applied
