TVR
A GOOD, LOW MILEAGE EXAMPLE OF A GRIFFITH 500 MOTOR CAR, REGISTRATION NO. J500 JHO,

Provenance: The vendor has kindly supplied us with the following information:

"First registered in 1997, and with only three owners from new, this car has only covered 31,000 miles in 15 years, and therefore is in excellent condition, mechanically and bodily having not been used by the current owner when any salt is on the road.

"The Griffith 500 is powered by a Rover 5-litre V8 engine, has a lightweight fibreglass body, and with a 0 - 60mph speed of 3.8 seconds is faster than a Ferrari, and at one tenth the cost of the Italian alternative! Of all the TVRs the Griffith is the fastest, with a top speed of 161mph, its smooth 'muscle car' lines and phenomenal exhaust note, has become a British classic.

"The Griffith 500 was first seen at the 1990 Birmingham Motor Show and was available from 1992. Production ended in 2000. It has the ability to outshine and outrun almost everything on the roads today. The Griffith has always been seen as the more 'brutal' car in the TVR stable with its outstanding acceleration and exceptional road holding, and it is hard to drive the car without a smile on one's face.

"While extremely fast and well-engineered, TVR have developed a reputation for unreliability and in answer to this the vendor of the vehicle offers these comments:

"I have only had two issues over the years I have owned the car. Both were minor, but annoying problems. The first was that when left unused for a period of weeks the battery would go flat due to power being drained by the anti-theft device fitted by the factory to the car. We solved this by putting a cut-off switch on the battery so that it can be isolated when the car is laid up for a lengthy period. The only drawback is that you have to reset the clock! The second was that the anti-theft device was so sophisticated that it sometimes denied power to the starter motor for reasons we could not understand, so we modified the electrics on the device to bypass this function.

"The car has been driven from northern Scotland to the sale in London, a distance of 560 miles, and in order to avoid traffic congestion the journey was completed overnight. The vendor is not willing to divulge how long the journey took in case the information is potentially incriminating!

"The registration number that the car carries will be sold with the car."

Other Notes: The vendor is happy to field any questions and has offered to deliver the vehicle to any mainland destination if desired after the sale.
