26in. nitro reproved chopperlump barrels (converted to 9,3x74R from .350 calibre in 1975), raised sight rib engraved in gothic script 'JNo. RIGBY & CO. 43 SACKVILLE STREET. LONDON.W.', open sights and ramp-mounted bead fore-sight, the breech end mounted with a Zeiss Diavari-C 1,5..4,5x18 telescopic sight in quickly-detachable mounts, tubes engraved 'CAL 9,3X74R REGULATED FOR 285 GRAIN BULLET', treble-grip action with rounded bar, removable striker discs, carved leaf fences, automatic safety with push button release and gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, dipped-edge lockplates, refreshed acanthus scroll engraving, retaining much renewed colour-hardening and finish, 15in. highly-figured replacement pistolgrip stock (and matching fore-end wood) with cheekpiece, sling swivels, the fore-end with ejector / non-ejector selector nut and grip-catch release, weight 10lb. 6oz.
Provenance: The makers have kindly informed us that this rifle was completed 1913 with 26in. barrels for Cnl. Kaye.
