A .476 (ELEY) SIX-SHOT DOUBLE-ACTION REVOLVER, MODEL '1878 DOUBLE-ACTION FRONTIER', serial no. 25053,
for 1890, with re-blued 5 1/2in. barrel signed 'COLT'S PT FA MFG CO HARTFORD CT USA DEPOT 14 PALL MALL LONDON', the left side of barrel stamped '.476 CAL', blade fore-sight, narrowed sighting channel to the top-strap, plain frame with loading gate, chequered hard-rubber birdshead grips embossed with the Colt trademark, provision for lanyard ring at heel (missing), spring loaded under-barrel ejector rod, the whole refinished, hammer, loading gate, trigger-guard bow and ejector rod thumb-piece all with later chrome plating, action slightly at fault
