A FINE CASED 80-BORE PERCUSSION FIVE-SHOT DOUBLE-ACTION PRESENTATION REVOLVER, MODEL 'KERR'S PATENT', serial no. 27, ref. no. 0408,
early version circa 1850, with blued, sighted 5 1/2in. octagonal barrel marked 'L.A.C.', the barrel flats with borderline engraved panels, twist engraved band to muzzle and bordering the notch-sighted top-strap, colour-hardened scroll engraved frame, borderline and scroll engraved blued cylinder with twist engraved band to the leading edge, colour-hardened scroll engraved curved lockplate signed 'LONDON ARMOURY, LONDON', colour-hardened scroll engraved side-hammer, chequered one-piece walnut grip with scroll engraved blued butt-cap to base, silver oval escutcheon to back of grip engraved '1866 WIMBLEDON WON BY', the remainder vacant, scroll engraved blued trigger-guard bow, polished hinged loading lever, Small Arms School identification disk, the whole in a remarkable state of preservation with some fading to blue but appearing unfired, TOGETHER WITH its makers oak case (lid and hinges missing), compartmented and lined in green baize, and containing a number of accessories including a James Dixon bag shaped powder flask, nipple key, laquered tin of lubricated patches and a nickel oil bottle
