circa 1800, with heavy octagonal re-browned 30 1/2in. slightly swamped barrel, the top-flat signed 'TS. SQUIRES, GUNMAKER LONDON' (rubbed), dove-tailed blade fore-sight, dove-tailed standing notch rear-sight with three additional folding leaves, extra vacant dove-tail, twin gold lines at breech, gold-lined touch-hole, hooked breech with engraved top-tang, flat bevel-edged border engraved lockplate signed 'SQUIRES', additional scroll engraving to the tail and sun-rays forwards of the hammer, sliding safe behind the hammer, rainproof pan and roller-bearing to the frizzen-spring, walnut full-stock chequered at the wrist (cracked behind lock and down through side nail), square-faced pillar peep-sight mounted behind the top-tang and adjustable via a keyway accessed through the trigger-guard tang (key supplied), border engraved iron heel-plate, raised tear-drop cheek-piece, scrolled lower tang, trigger guard bow engraved with palm trees and a lion, engraved and turned ramrod pipes, engraved iron fore-end cap, iron swivels and original ramrod
