* AN EXCEEDINGLY RARE 12mm (PERRIN THICK-RIM) & 24-BORE TEN-SHOT COMBINATION REVOLVING CARBINE, MODEL 'LEMAT PATENT', serial no. 12,
Belgian manufacture circa 1870, with two-stage rifled 23 1/4in. 12mm Perrin centre-fire barrel signed 'COLONEL LEMAT PATENT' above a central axis single-shot 24-bore centre-fire smoothbore shot-barrel, blade foresight integral with the front barrel-band, hinged rear-sight with two leaves giving sighting positions for 100 to 400yds in 100yd increments, further standing notch rear-sight to top of the standing breech, fully fluted nine-shot cylinder rotating around the central barrel, open iron frame with hinged loading gate to right hand side for the cylinder, flip-up breech-block operating to the left for the shot barrel, oversized hammer with drop-down secondary nose for firing the shot-barrel (thumb-piece missing), walnut straight-hand butt-stock, iron heel-plate of carbine form with integral oil-bottle mounted in the top-spur, iron trigger-guard bow with frontal extended palm-brace, take-down nut to front of frame, sliding ejector rod for cylinder mounted to right hand side and a detachable cleaning rod doubling as a clearing rod for the shot barrel mounted to the right-hand side between the barrels, the whole 'in the white' (probably as manufactured) with some mild staining
