the mounts bearing hallmarks for 1765, with brass 8in. cannon barrels with banded muzzles, engraved tapering flats at the breeches signed 'LONDON' terminating in engraved scrolls, London proofs and makers mark 'WB' at breech, scroll engraved iron top-tangs, slightly radiused border engraved iron lock-plates signed 'BRANDER', broad sliding safes behind the hammers, rainproof pans, walnut full-stocks carved with tear-drops behind the locks and side-plates, full silver furniture including long-eared butt-caps with grotesque masks, rococco escutcheons to wrists, florally engraved double roll-edged trigger-guard bows with vase finials, pierced martial trophy side-plates and moulded and banded ramrod thimbles, complete with horn-tipped ramrods
