A RARE .68 FLINTLOCK SINGLE-SHOT OFFICERS PISTOL, MODEL 'GARDES DU CORPS MLE 1816', serial no. 48,
circa 1816, with round 8in. barrel, the breech-end stamped with an oval containing a letter 'B' together with '13th L on 48', solid rounded top-tang, bevel edged lock with radiused tail signed 'MANUF ROY LE MAUBEUGE', brass pan, walnut three-quarter stock with flared base to the grip, brass furniture including butt-cap, trigger-guard, side-plate and twin-banded nose-cap, complete with original iron ramrod
