28in. nitro chopperlump barrels, rib engraved 'J. PURDEY & SONS. AUDLEY HOUSE, SOUTH AUDLEY STREET. LONDON. ENGLAND', and '2', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. and 3/4 choke, removable striker discs, toplever engraved '2', automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, cocking-indicators, best fine floral bouquet and acanthus scroll engraving, brushed and blued finish overall, 14 1/8in. figured stock including 7/8in. rubber recoil pad, weight 6lb. 4oz.

Major Michael Duncan David Crichton-Stuart M.C. (1915 - 1981) was the son of Lt.-Col. Lord Ninian Edward Crichton-Stuart.
He gained the rank of Major in the service of the Scots Guards. He fought in WWII and on the 25th November 1943 he was awarded the Military Cross for acts of exemplary gallantry during active operations against the enemy whilst fighting in the Middle Eastern theatre.
In 1951 he held the office of Justice of the Peace for Fife, and the office of Deputy Lieutenant of Fife two years later. He also held the office of Hereditary Keeper of Falkland Palace.
He was invested as an Officer in the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem, and as a Knight in the Sovereign Military Order of Malta
