dated 13-5-1721, with brushed bright swamped octagonal 27 3/4in. rifled barrel, brass dove-tailed foresight blade, blued standing notch rear-sight with engraved top-edge to blade, borderline and foliate engraved polished top-tang, also engraved with a small alignment arrow running onto the breech, curved, flat bevel-edged border engraved bar-action polished lock, signed 'PENTERMAN, UTRECHT' with a flamboyant 'P', en-suite hammer with faceted jaws, faceted pan and frizzen, lightly carved and moulded full-stock (toe expertly repaired) with plain carved borders around much of the furniture, acanthus relief carving behind the top-tang, rococo borders around the comb, sliding wood patchbox cover with carved decoration, raised cheek-piece possibly originally fitted with a leather pad, brass heel-plate with serial number and borderline top-spur with shaped edge, faceted moulded square-backed trigger-guard bow and tang, re-engraved brass side-plate with date at tail, turned and faceted ramrod thimbles, pale horn fore-end tip and probable replacement horn tipped ramrod
