circa 1877, with re-browned 30in. damascus barrels, the top-rib signed 'WILLIAM POWELL & SON', platinum line and plugs at breech, fully engraved elongated top-tang, borderline and scroll engraved bar-action locks signed 'WILLIAM POWELL & SON', scroll engraved hammers with fish-scale engraving to necks, chequered walnut half-stock, scroll engraved iron furniture and brass mounted ebony ramrod TOGETHER WITH its manufacturers brass-cornered mahogany storage case lined in pale brown embossed leatherette with fully lidded compartments, the inside of lid inset with William Powell parchment trade-label (lock missing)
