German or Swiss, circa 1765, with slightly swamped 8 1/4in. barrels, carved, raised sighting rib ending in a pendant extending for the first half of its length, plain top-tang, plain slightly radiused locks with rainproof pans, walnut full-stocks inlaid with silver wire scrolls behind the top-tang, (small losses), flattened flared butts with engraved short-eared iron butt-caps, iron trigger-guard bows with rolled edges and acorn finials, turned ramrod throats and thimbles, replacement horn-tipped ramrods, iron surfaces cleaned with mild frosting
