circa 1860 and converted from muzzle-loader to pinfire, with 27 1/2in. damascus barrels, the rib engraved 'WIGGAN & ELLIOT, MAKERS TO THE ROYAL FAMILY & THE PACHA OF EGYPT' and stamped '454', a flash of scroll engraving at the breech end and borders engraved around the breech-ends, Brazier signed action, Jones patent rotary underlever, carved percussion fences, non-rebounding locks with fine border and partial acanthus scroll engraving and signed 'NIXON, NEWARK', chequered walnut stock stamped at toe' 93/1143' and blued steel buttplate, the whole retaining strong traces of colour and finish
