28in. Greener trade mark wrought steel nitro barrels (slightly loose) with fine acanthus scroll detailing at the breech ends, matt rib with banner engraved 'W.W. GREENER. MAKER. 68. HAYMARKET. BIRMINGHAM.', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 1/2 choke, right bore diameter marginal, scroll-back treble-grip action with ropework engraved shoulders, three-point arcaded fences deeply carved in relief with bold acanthus scrollwork, toplever engraved with a crown, manual side-safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, the housing finely engraved with a lone pigeon, the action profusely engraved with fine acanthus scrollwork and with oak leaf and acorn bordering, interspersed with finely engraved vignettes of hound flushing a covey of partridge and a spaniel flushing a brace of duck, the underside with a lone woodcock, the triggerguard with two setters on point, retaining traces of original colour-hardening and finish, 15in. well-figured stock with horn spearpoint drop points, the fore-end with Deeley and Edge patent release catch engraved with oak leaves, scrollwork and a solitary mallard, ornate horn finial, weight 6lb. 2oz., in its lightweight leather case with modern canvas and leather outer cover, red baize interior with gold-tooled leather makers label, fitted with a number of accessories including a large W.W. Greener nickel-plated oil bottle and two 'W.W.G.' marked horn handled turnscrews, together with its original 'Certificate of Shooting' / 'Handling & Care of Guns' tag
