circa 1850, with browned twist-iron 5 3/4in. rifled barrels, bead fore-sight, carved snails and fences, borderline and scroll engraved top-tang, borderline and scroll engraved banana-shaped back-action locks signed 'BENTLEY LONDON', walnut three-quarter stock with chequered bag-shaped butt, white-metal oval escutcheons to the wrist and the barrel key, engraved iron furniture, double triggers and brass-tipped ebony ramrod (hairline crack to fore-end forwards of barrel key); TOGETHER WITH a period walnut and mahogany case, compartmented in black velvet and containing a measure, cap-tin, loading rod and turnscrew
