A RARE .36 PERCUSSION FIVE-SHOT DOUBLE-ACTION REVOLVER, MODEL 'ADAMS PATENT NAVY MODEL', serial no. 678,
circa 1858, with octagonal 6in. barrel, the top-strap marked 'MANUFACTURED BY MASS. ARMS CO. CHICOPEE FALLS', dove-tailed bead fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight, plain cylinder with wingnut release, solid iron frame with narrow side-plate, the base of frame stamped 'ADAMS PATENT MAY 3D 1858' on the left and 'PATENT JUNE 3D 1856' on the right, double-action trigger with spurred hammer, chequered walnut grip with lanyard hole and iron butt-cap, the left side of barrel mounted with 'KERR'S' patent rammer
Other Notes: Only 1000 of these rare revolvers were produced in this size, with 600 being purchased by the US Government. This is one of the scarcer civilian issues
