for 1993, 28in. nitro chopperlump barrels, the rib engraved 'FREDERICK BEESLEY (FORMERLY OF ST. JAMES'S STREET. LONDON) AMERSHAM' and gold-inlaid '1' at the breech end, 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. and 1/4 choke, action incorporating Adams & Robertson (Boss) easy-opening ejector system, patent no. 2988 of 4th February 1897, finely scroll-engraved toplever with matted circular panel gold-inlaid '1', automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, hand-detachable lockplates with Henry Holland and Thomas Woodward (Holland & Holland) patent quickly-detachable locks, patent no. 11319 of 25th May 1908, gold-inlaid cocking-indicators, rolled-edge triggerguard, the action, lockplates and furniture finely engraved with acanthus scrollwork and floral bouquets, the lockplates with finely engraved scrolling banners with central crown motifs and gold-inlaid 'F. BEESLEY LONDON AMERSHAM', the triggerplate signed 'P.M. FRENETTE. ENGR', the underside gold-inlaid 'F. BEESLEY AMERSHAM LONDON', retaining virtually full colour-hardening and finish and with colour-hardened triggers, 15 1/4in. well-figured stock with diamond grip, 12in. beavertail fore-end with twin engraved and colour-hardened diamond-shaped retaining plates, the forward gold-inlaid '1', Anson push rod release with carved circular access aperture, weight 7lb., in its brass-cornered oak and leather case with red baize interior and gold-tooled leather trade label
