for 1933, 26 1/2in. nitro barrels, sunken ribs engraved 'WILLIAM EVANS. 63 PALL MALL, ST. JAMES'S. LONDON.' and gold-inlaid '1' and '2' at the breech ends, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 1/2 choke, treble-grip actions with removable striker discs, toplevers gold-inlaid '1' and '2', automatic safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, beaded border engraving with occasional scroll details, retaining traces of colour-hardening and finish, 14 1/4in. stocks (slightly shortened - case containing approx. 1/2in. sections removed from butts), weight 6lb. 3oz., in a brass-cornered leather case
Provenance: A photocopy of the entry in the makers records accompanies the Lot, confirming the guns were sold to 'M Legge Bourke' on the 8th February 1933
