A RARE 16-BORE 1902 PATENT SINGLE-TRIGGER TRIPLE-BARRELLED SIDELOCK EJECTOR, serial no. 6650,
for 1912, 28in. nitro barrels of pyramidal form, the top barrel engraved 'EDWINSON GREEN & SONS. CHELTENHAM & GLOUCESTER. (GREEN'S PATENT)', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl, imp. cyl and 1/2 choke, bore dimensions marginal, E.C. Green 'single-trigger triple-barrelled guns' patent no. 15307 of 9th July 1909, with left and right tumblers cocked with cocking rods, the central tumbler cockied via a pin on the right hammer, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, non-selective single trigger, best fine acanthus scroll engraving with floral bouquets, bright finish, 14in. figured stock, fore-end with Anson push-rod release, weight 6lb. 15oz., in its brass-cornered leather case


Provenance: The Lot is supplied with a photocopy of the maker's records, dated 1912, which lists the order for '1 3 barrel ejector gun, 16-bore, 35gns.' for a J. Moody, The Mount, Stocksfield on Tyne', also referencing 'Lloyds, Quayside Branch Newcastle on Tyne'. Some photocopies of contemporary promotional material is also included
