A VERY RARE GRAZIOLI-ENGRAVED .30-30 WIN. MODEL '94 '125TH ANNIVERSARY - EUROPEAN EDITION' LEVER-ACTION REPEATING RIFLE, serial no. 4823000,
for 1991, Italian proof and CAT no. 285, 20in. octagonal nitro barrel with blade front sight and tangent rearsight, two gold band details at the muzzle, the left side of the barrel inlaid in gold 'WINCHESTER - ® - MODEL 94 30-30 WIN.', the right side gold-inlaid 'WINCHESTER', the top flat gold-inlaid in script '125th Anniversary' and with some acanthus scroll detailing, full length tubular magazine with polished and leaf-engraved end cap, the receiver and furniture fully and finely carved in relief with scrolling acanthus and foliate motifs on a finely matted background, the left side with central circular escutcheon with relief engraved and gold-inlaid Winchester Horse and Rider framed with scrolling banners gold-inlaid '125th ANNIVERSARY' to the left and '1866 1991' to the right, the right side of the receiver with a scrolling banner gold-inlaid 'WINCHESTER', the crescentic polished steel buttplate, underlever and nose-cap engraved en suite, signed 'INC. F. Grazioli' to the lower right of the receiver and '014 / 125 Bottega C. Giovanelli' to the lower left, the underside gold-inlaid with the serial number, highly-figured stock and fore-end with fine cut chequering, weight 6lb. 15oz., in a full length green baize lined leather case with gold-tooled 'WINCHESTER - One of One Thousand' label


Provenance: The Winchester Arms Collectors Association references two editions of the 125th Anniversary Commemorative rifles being offered in 1991. The domestic version of which 125 were scheduled at a cost of $4,995, but just 61 were produced and the European version, of which 125 were scheduled (cost unlisted), but the number produced is unknown. It has been suggested as few as 31 were actually made
