A CASED PAIR OF 32-BORE PERCUSSION DUELLING PISTOLS, serial no's. 6218,
for 1816, with later conversion by the makers to percussion, octagonal twist iron 10in. barrels, the top-flats signed 'DOVER STREET', small crescent fore-sights, standing notch rear-sights, re-coloured breech-blocks with inlayed silver poincons embossed ''MANTON & SON', platinum line and vents, re-coloured border-line and scroll engraved flat locks signed 'MANTON & SON PATENT', clipped tails, sliding safes behind the slab-sided scroll engraved dolphin-headed hammers, walnut half-stocks with chequered bag-shaped butts, clipped-corner rectangular escutcheons to the wrists, blued furniture, silver oval take-down wedge escutcheons, horn fore-end tips and replacement under-barrel ramrods, TOGETHER WITH an original but later period mahogany case, compartmented and lined in maroon velvet (faded, tear to lid lining) and containing a three-way flask (unsigned), a scissors ball-mould, a mainspring clamp and a brass mounted mahogany cleaning rod
